My art is an expression of my out-of-doors experiences which include hiking, boating and travel to interesting locales around the world. The Connecticut shoreline where I reside, provides much beauty and diversity of subject matter in the estuaries, the CT River, Long Island Sound as well as the seasonal changes of New England. I frequently hike in the southwest US and try to capture the dramatic colors and shadows of the rock formations. In my studio I work from my photos to paint places, people, animals or still life compositions of ordinary objects.
